Join me at the Rocky Mountain Oyster Fry!

I've never eaten bull testicles, so I don't know how good a judge I'll be. The way I look at it, I'm going to vote for how good a DISH it is.

Yes, I've been asked to be a judge at Virginia City's annual Rocky Mountain Oyster Fry on March 10th. Last year I was stymied by the weather. A blizzard occurred that weekend. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for this year, but so far our weather has been very uncooperative. Makes me wonder... why isn't this event a little later in the year? The answer seems to be because they wrap it up together with their St. Patrick's Day celebrations.

Anyway, each year, more than 3,000 daring connoisseurs sample tasty testes from cooks competing for the title of Best Rocky Mountain Oyster Cook in the West! Cooks from around the west fry, smoke or grill these delectable concoctions in a way that will make you forget what you’re really eating. Go balls out and try them all. Dress in your most outlandish St. Patty’s Day garb, walk in the parade, join the costume contest and get in on the Ballbreaker Saloon Crawl. This full-on Irish testicle festival is the place to be for St. Patrick’s Day, complete with a beer garden, music and the lively atmosphere found only in Virginia City.

Readers of my blog will know that I only went to Virginia City for the first time last summer and loved it! I'm really looking forward to a fun-filled weekend!

Tasting tickets start at $5 for three samples or 10 samples for $12, prices for advance online purchases. To sweeten the pot, every Flight of 10 purchased in advance online receives a $5 apparel credit to be used at the event.
